Please visit my shop when you get a chance!

Gypsy update: I linked all my cartridges! It takes less than 30 seconds to link each one, so it didn't take me too long. Now, to see if my cartridges still work...........LOL - they better!!!

The Gypsy!!!

I can hardly believe it, but...I got a Gypsy! September 24 was the launch of the Gypsy on HSN. So, at 10:00, I watched a UStream show with the 3 girls from the Christmas with the Cricut blog. After that, I headed over to HSN and ordered my Gypsy! I opted for the flex pay plan, which is cool. The HSN package included a sleeve for the device, USB cable, cartridge sync cable, the cord that connects the Gypsy to my Cricut, a cool carrying case (black with hot pink piping), a car charger and the Don Juan cartridge!!! The cartridge was HSN's bonus. I love it!

I have not actually plugged it in to my Cricut yet, but I do have an exciting tip to pass on to you. How do 700 Reward Points sound?? Well, when you sync the G with your computer, the first thing it does is ask you to register it. I'm not sure if it was my computer that was the problem, but it didn't say "thank you for registering" right away. What I saw next (a few hours later) was a message asking me to confirm the serial number, which is on the bottom of the Gypsy under the bar code. Once I did that, it was probably a full day before they sent me an email giving me the codes. One is for 200 points (100 points for each of the pre-loaded cartridges) and the other is for 500 points (for the Gypsy).

I hope to have more to report after this weekend! Oh, and check out my Etsy shop! Finally got it up and running! I don't have a lot of items listed yet because it's recommended that you space your listings out. Let me know what you think!

Cricut's 100th Cartridge!!

Hey - it's been a while since my last post! Just wanted to let you know about Provo Craft's newest giveaway. To celebrate the release of their 100th cartridge (Winter Woodland, which I JUST received in the mail!!), they will be giving away 100 cartridges over the next 5 weeks! Go here to check out the cartridge and here to post a comment on the thread and be entered for a chance to win!

On another note, I am trying to come up with a name for my soon-to-be-opened etsy shop...ugghhhh!!! I have come up with a lot of ideas, as have many of my friends, but most of them are not suitable because they're being used by someone else. Help!! ;)

I know I should be ashamed, but I'm doing a little happy dance that Ethan's soccer practice got cancelled! Now I can start playing with my 3-D houses!!

Have a great weekend~

Now that's what I'm talkin' about!

I had in my mind that I was going to make a cartridge caddy out of one of those ClearSnap containers, like I've seen for sale on Etsy, but this might be even better! The case sells for $8.99, and the inserts, which hold 8 cartridges, sell for $7.99 each. They are sold online only - here's the link - http://scrapcessories.com/index.cfm?page=products. They are also making inserts that hold other things, like alcohol inks and snacks.

Unfortunately, I think I read that they won't be shipping it until early May??? I'll investigate a little more and let you know what I find out.

And, obviously I need help getting my picture turned around!! I swear, I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong!

A little help...

Hey y'all! I'm obviously new at the blogging thing...so bear with me! Question: when you see blog candy on someone else's blog and they say to link their candy to your blog (to enter to win), how do you do that if there's not a code posted? And then, is it added under "add a link", "HTML" or "add a gadget"? Thanks in advance for your help!
I pre-ordered Everyday Paper Dolls tonight from ScrapbookPal.com - happy birthday to me a few weeks early! - just don't tell my husband-shhh! I can hardly wait til "mid-September", the expected delivery date!
Today was my son's first day of school - 3rd grade! I just can't believe it! Where has the time gone?? Ethan was very particular about what he wore to school today - down to the shark tooth necklace and the spiked-just-right hair! And so it begins............... He had a great day at school and was so happy that his 2 best friends are in his class!
Hugs,
Ann

I can finally show you what I've been working on for the past few weeks! I have had so much fun working on these Alabama and Auburn paper dolls! No two are alike (except for the babies), so hopefully there's something for everyone. There are 36 in all. I am selling them at Scrapbook Mania, but I will also be taking orders! Here are just a few examples:

Hey y'all! My blogger friend Linda (justascrappin.blogspot.com) is always up to the minute on news from the scrapbooking world, especially Provo Craft. (How do those girls DO that?? ;) A lot of the information here is from her site.

First off...Gypsy!!! I will let you form your own opinions of it, but do go to cricut.com and take the test drive. Do you want to know now or later that the MSRP is $400???

Also, more new Cricut cartridges have been announced: Superman, Batman, Elmo, and Designer's Calendar. They join these other six that were announced a couple of weeks ago: Serenade, Picturesque, From My Kitchen, Winter Wonderland, Sweethearts and Everyday Paper Dolls!!!!! Linda has pictures of all of these on her website. I've got to figure out how to get that kind of info for my blog! Suggestions and tutorials welcome!!

Go here for pictures from CHA! http://www.flickr.com/photos/lynnagibson/ YouTube has videos of people walking through the booths at CHA, filming! Two Peas In A Bucket also has many videos with new product from lots of companies. Go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Syy27mY4So&feature=channel to see!

For you Scrapbook Mania girlfriends, don't forget that India and Christine are at CHA and promised to post pictures of new product. If you post a comment, you could win!

Have a great day!

Happy birthday to my Mom! She's 71 today and I'll be giving her the card I made yesterday (picture to follow next post). It was kind of fun to make but frustrating as well. The directions were very clear; however, I'm soooo glad my friend Christine was at the crop yesterday doing a make-and-take. She said, "Oh, what you need is one of those punches. I've got one in my car". So, after an hour of measuring, re-measuring, throwing my pennies across the table and in general being frustrated, I punched out what I had been trying to measure so carefully!! (Thanks, Christine!). Christine also helped me decide that I'm going to download a template for houndstooth paper. I want to color it pink, but I don't have Photoshop. When I download the file, I'm going to email it to her, she'll color it for me and email it back to me. The pink houndstooth is for a huge project I'm working on. I'm making paper dolls (from the Cricut Paper Doll Dress Up cartridge) of Alabama and Auburn fans. Alabama has gone girly with the traditional Bear Bryant black and white houndstooth, making it pink and white. It has shown up on all sorts of products. So, I have girls and baby girls sporting shorts, shirts and bloomers in that pattern. I'll post pictures of those soon as well. My other goal for this week is to investigate Etsy. I got my 3rd encouragement to "hang out my shingle" yesterday, so I think I'm going to do it! Wish me luck!!

I am super excited to see my sister tonight! She is doing a mini-triathalon this morning in St. Louis and then driving to Birmingham!!! I will be calling her to keep her awake and alert!

Have a great day!

Christmas in July Crop

I'm going to be croppin' with my peeps today! Hopefully I can get there with all my needed supplies. It's not THAT far to come back home, but once I get there I don't want to have to leave!

I think today I'm going to work on a birthday card for my Mom, whose birthday is tomorrow. I watched a YouTube video on making "spinning cards". They look super fun to make so I'm gonna give it a whirl (no pun intended!). I'm also going to work on a LO about my husband and me participating in the Peachtree Road Race (a 6.2 mile mini-marathon in Atlanta). Since it is run on July 4, I got some patriotic-looking papers and am in the process of printing my pictures.

Hopefully I'll be able to post some pictures either tonight or in the morning.

Have a great day!

My Dad has Alzheimer's. I hope you can make out the journaling.

I probably don't have to point it out, but...............I paper-pieced my own 50's Prime Time Cafe sign!!

A picture of what came out of Ethan's (my son) pockets!
Posted by Picasa
I don't know how well you'll be able to see this sign, but it reads, "WE WILL MEET OR BEET THE COMPETITIONS PRICES". Gotta love it - bad spelling AND bad grammar!
